Dr. Ioan Florin Dumitrescu - signing as Jean DIF
Dr. Ioan Florin Dumitrescu was a pioneer, a mind ahead of his time. He left some remarkable contributions in the field of computer software, 3D modelling and art. This activity was published under the pen-name of Jean DIF. He would not want the work of the physician/scientific researcher be in competition with the artist.
His books published on computer graphics did challenge the performance of the machines at that time. Images by ray-tracing were taking hours on end to be rendered. Worked with famous 3D software such as AutoCad, Lightwave 3D, 3D Studio, Amapi.
Books on computer + CDs include:

3D Image Techniques + CD, published by Sybex, Paris, France, 1996 |

He loved painting. He used to say: "Had I not been born to become a physician and heal pain and suffering, I would have liked to be an artist."
Thus, he pursued his dream, painting under the pen-name of Jean DIF. Was an active participant at collective and personal exhibitions. He used the "à couteau" technique.
Silver medal-holder at the International Painting Exhibition in Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, France, 1997.
His references in painting include:
- "Annuaire de la Cote des Arts", France, 5 th Edition, 1996
